RULES & CONDITIONS


All stock must be bona fide property of the exhibitor.

None of the animals competing to be taken away from the show until after the grand parade is over unless instructed to do so by organisers.

All protests must be in writing and must be lodged with the Secretary on the day of the show along with a deposit of £10 which will be forfeited to the Society if the protest is not upheld.

Any animal that has been operated on in the manner commonly known as doctoring by blistering, puncturing or putting adhesive matter on their udders or teats, pouring of liquor into them or any other practice which causes pain will be excluded from the competition.

No bull over one year old will be permitted to come within the ground set apart for competition unless he is properly secured by a rope fastened to a ring through his nostril.

The Transport of Animals (Cleansing Disinfection) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 applies to vehicles taking animals to and from the show. The show organisers must be informed of the name and address of haulier if not using own transport.

The names and addresses of all persons handling stock for the exhibitors should be recorded by them and retained for 3 months beyond the date of the show.

All sheep attending the show must be individually identified in accordance with current legislation. The individual identification numbers should be listed on the movement document. Please note it the responsibility of the stock keeper not the show organisers to ensure correct details are recorded and passed on to the relevant authorities.

All MAEDI-VISNA /CAE stock must be accompanied by a current and valid health status certificate to be shown to steward before the stock is unloaded from the transport.

Cattle moving to and from the show must be accompanied by their passports which must be presented to the Secretary on arrival at the show. The show organisers will only notify BCMS of the show movement (i.e. on and off the showfield.) It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to record movements off and back onto their holding within 7 days of the show.

All cattle to conform to regulations approved by any Brucellosis or Tuberculosis schemes.

All cattle to have BVD negative status. Exhibitors should declare individual animal status to the show organiser.
