Caledonian Showing Championships The Caledonian Showing Championships are now well established in the showing calendar and will once again give 2018 competitors the opportunity to compete at a top level Championship Final in Scotland. Evening Performances, loads of bling and razzmatazz .... everything an end of season Championship should have! This year’s show will be held at Highfield @ Howe, near Ladybank, Fife on 13/14 October 2018 This Show is a qualifier and every horse & pony placed 1st and 2nd in all Inhand, Ridden Showing classes (not fun classes) & Working Hunter/Pony classes will qualify to compete in any appropriate class at the Finals. Qualification will be from placings, no qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, and no qualification can go down the line. Qualification is for the Horse & Pony except for Adult/Young Handler classes, where the Handler qualifies. All qualified horses and ponies will be listed on the Caledonian Showing Show’s website www.caledonianchampionships.webs.com where you will also find a regularly updated list of qualifying shows as well as a wealth of other information. A small jump may be included at the judge’s discretion. Winner to receive the Shaz Perpetual Trophy. 3 MIXED HEIGHT SHOW HUNTER PONY/INTERMEDIATE, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 158cms. Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year, and be a suitable size for the pony they ride. Under either BSPS or P(UK) rules winner to receive the Silver Springs Trophy donated by Judith Reid. 4 MIXED HEIGHT SHOW PONY/ INTERMEDIATE, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 158cms. Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year, and be a suitable size for the pony they ride. Under either BSPS or P(UK) rules. 5 BEST RIDER. Open to ponies 4 yrs and over not exceeding 148cms. Riders aged 16 years and under. Winner to receive the Best Rider Shield. 6 FAMILY PONY. Open to ponies 4 yrs and over not exceeding 148cms. Class will be judged as true family pony type suitable to be ridden by any family member. Snaffle bridles only. Winner to receive the Sooty Memorial Trophy. 37 OPEN HORSE (85CMS). Open to horses, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms. Winner to receive the Tartan Shield. 38 LEAD REIN PONY (crosspoles). Open to ponies not exceeding 148cms. Riders 10 years and under not to have competed in any jumping class off the lead rein. One round which will be against the clock. 39 STARTER STAKES (50CMS). Open to ponies not exceeding 148cms. Riders aged 16 years and under. Pony/rider combination not to have been placed 1st in a jumping competition off the lead rein. Winner to receive The Tweedie Trophy. 40 NOVICE PONY (65CMS). Open to ponies 4 years old and over, not exceeding 148cms. Winner to receive the Novice Pony Salver. 41 INTERMEDIATE PONY (75CMS). Open to ponies 4 years old and over, not exceeding 148cms. Winner to receive the Twix Trophy. 42 OPEN PONY (85CMS). Open to ponies 4 years old and over, not exceeding 148cms. CLEAR ROUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE UPON COMPLETION OF SHOWJUMPING, TIME AND WEATHER PERMITTING. ADJUST TO OWN HEIGHT - VOLUNTEERS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST. RIDERS MAY PRESENT THEMSELVES AT ANY TIME AND PAY AT GATE. £3 PER ROUND OR 2 FOR £5 AND ROSETTES FOR ALL CLEARS. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY • Hard hat with safety harness secured must be worn when mounted and conform to current approved BSI standards. Please ensure you are familiar with these and your hat complies with updated regulations. • Allocated numbers must be worn when competing. Failure to do so will result in immediate elimination. • Foul language and abuse of horses and ponies will not be tolerated and will result in immediate elimination. • The organisers make every effort to avoid classes clashing, but in the event of a clash, the competitor must decide in which class they wish to compete. Entries will NOT be refunded. • The winners of perpetual trophies are responsible for its safe return to the Show Secretary in time for the following years show. The committee reserves the right to issue alternative trophies and in the event a trophy is not available on the day of the show the Secretary will make every effort to ensure the competitor receives their trophy as soon as possible after the show. • Online and postal entries only and close on Wednesday 16 May 2017. There will be no refunds for cancellations after that date unless a vet’s certificate is provided. Entries will not be refunded on or after the day of the show. No other form of entry will be accepted ie phone/email/message. • Online entries via PayPal and an administration cost will be added prior to payment. • Postal entries will only be accepted if accompanied by payment. • Entries on the day may be taken and only at the Secretaries discretion. All classes entered on the day with cost £8 and cash only accepted. • The age of the rider shall be that on the date of the show. • Handlers of stallions must be experienced and have attained their 14th birthday before the date of the show. • The organisers reserve the right to divide classes if warranted or combine classes in the event of insufficient entries. • The organisers reserve the right to refuse entries. • The organisers accept no liability whatsoever for any loss, injury or damage to any pony, horse, competitor, spectator, vehicle, trailer or property however caused. • The Judge’s decision is final. Any abuse of judges or officials will not be accepted and anyone perceived to be conducting themselves in an abusive manner will be asked to leave the showfield. No refund of entry monies will be made. • Any objections that arise MUST be lodged with the Secretary along with a £25.00 deposit up to ½ hr following the event concerned. The deposit will be returned if the objection is sustained. • Please ensure that you have your equine passport available for review. Remember that no horse or pony should travel without their passport. • In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the committee will refund fees, less reasonable incurred expenses, on receipt of a refund request by the competitor within 2 weeks of the show date. • Prizes have been kindly donated by sponsors and are not exchangeable for cash or alternative items
